Living memories of Scaynes Hill

Many residents of Scaynes Hill have lived here a long time and can probably remember what the village was like 30, 50 or even more years ago. Memories of Stephen Laker:   Does anyone remember the following places in Scaynes Hill from the 80s?

    • Blane the butchers shop
    • the saw mills
    • Dales shop where they sold paint
    • the post office
    • the two other shops
    • things like when I went to school the caravan that was parked in the school yard once a year to do dentistry work (when there was a school on Church Road down the road from St Augustine’s Church)the village hall across from the church
