Living memories of Scaynes Hill
Many residents of Scaynes Hill have lived here a long time and can probably remember what the village was like 30, 50 or even more years ago. Memories of Stephen Laker: Does anyone remember the following places in Scaynes Hill from the 80s?
- Blane the butchers shop
- the saw mills
- Dales shop where they sold paint
- the post office
- the two other shops
- things like when I went to school the caravan that was parked in the school yard once a year to do dentistry work (when there was a school on Church Road down the road from St Augustine’s Church)the village hall across from the church
