See the flipbook for all the details https://online.fliphtml5.com/urkda/sjle/

St Augustine’s Church is a Grade II listed Victorian building with beautiful early 20th century woodwork and a magnificent tapestry which covers the whole of the East wall. The floor of the church will be undergoing major repairs as the supporting timbers of much of the wooden floor are decayed and the stone flooring is also in need of repair. It is hoped that funds can be raised during the Open Weekend to assist with the cost of the repairs.

The weekend will start on Friday 19th May when the church will be open from 6-8 pm for people to view the exhibition while enjoying wine and cheese with some live music during the evening. There will be displays on the history of the church and the tapestry and visitors can have a go at the Arts Trail. There will be a display on memories of the church with photographs from the past. If you would like to contribute to this please do get in touch. The exhibition includes a display on the role of the church today and what it can offer the local community. St Augustine’s Church has a Silver Eco Church award and the displays will also feature the environment. Information about what is involved in the floor repairs will be available. The church is planning to bury a time capsule under the floor when it is repaired so look out for information about this exciting project.

On Saturday 20th May the church will be open from 11 am for viewing with coffee and cakes available. The Spring Garden Sale will take place in the church garden from 1-3 pm and include seeds, plants, hand tools, pots and planters, gardening accessories and gardening books. Light lunches will be served and cream teas will be available in the afternoon. There will also be some fun activities for children. Any gardening items people wish to donate can be left at the back of the church in advance of the event. Do come along to enjoy the sale and get your garden ready for the summer.

The Church hopes you can join the Open Weekend and looks forward to seeing you at one of the events. For further information contact:
