It’s beginning to feel a little less like winter and a bit more like spring. As evidence of that you may be seeing a number of locations around the village where the road verges or other areas are starting to show signs of spring in the form of crocuses and/or daffodils. This brightening of our village landscape is largely due to the Sustainability Group who have been planting bulbs around the village for some time. In the autumn of 2020 they planted about 1200 bulbs and last year they planted another 800, making 2000 bulbs altogether. Perhaps the most intensely planted area is roundabout in Orchard Close where a total of 400 bulbs have been planted (250 crocuses and 150 daffodils) so perhaps take a moment to view the burgeoning of spring there!
