Here is an important message from the owners of the private part of Costells Wood, through which the permissive path from the Recreation Ground passes.
Dear Woodland user,
In connection with our woodland management plan, we have scheduled some maintenance work for the privately owned portion of the woodland.
This will involve heavy machinery and the felling of a few trees. For the duration of this closure, the woodland will be closed to ALL access without exception.
Please understand that the woodland is only closed for your safety so please respect the closure.
You can still access the wider Costells wood via the Woodland Trust land off the Common on Church Road.
